Parisa Noroozi Behjat
I design and build intelligent AI systems through research and development, connecting research with real-world applications.
My main interests are Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, and scalable software engineering. I also have hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, information retrieval, indexing, relevance scoring, and search optimization.
Alongside my personal projects, I've spent the past four years contributing to industrial AI development at Aria Haman Mehr Parse, including the RGN project.
Research-Driven. Engineering-Focused
Exploring the intersection of language, retrieval, and graph-based knowledge.
I'm a Computer Engineering student who genuinely enjoys understanding how intelligent systems work. I mainly work with Python and have a strong interest in Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, and search systems. I also have hands-on experience with Elasticsearch and search concepts such as indexing, retrieval, and relevance. Whenever possible, I like building things from scratch. Working without ready-made libraries can take longer, but it helps me understand what is happening behind the code and gives me more freedom to experiment with different ideas. Recently, I've been spending more time learning PyTorch and exploring how machine learning can connect with the systems I already enjoy building. The part of AI I find most interesting is where research, experimentation, and real software come together.
Designing intelligent systems that understand, process, and retrieve human language efficiently.
Building reliable learning models with PyTorch and modern machine learning techniques.
Developing scalable and maintainable AI applications with clean software architecture.
I learn best by building things from scratch. If I don't understand how something works, I usually open a notebook and try to rebuild it myself. That's why I enjoy working on search engines, tokenizers, and NLP systems. Getting the final result matters, but I also want to understand what happens underneath.
Four years of hands-on experience contributing to real-world AI systems alongside experienced engineers.
I started at Aria Haman Mehr Parse as an intern and gradually moved into an engineering role. Over the past four years, I've worked with experienced AI engineers and contributed to AI systems developed for production environments.
One of my main contributions has been to the RGNN project, where I helped develop the tokenizer used in its NLP pipeline. This work gave me practical insight into how research ideas are developed into reliable software for real-world use.
A brief overview of my education, industry experience, projects, and the areas I'm currently exploring.
My journey started with the foundations of programming and software engineering. Over time, my interests expanded to AI, NLP, search systems, and more recently, graph-based learning. I learn best through projects and by understanding the ideas behind the tools I use.
I started at Aria Haman Mehr Parse as an AI engineering intern and gradually moved into more specialized AI development. During this time, I worked on NLP systems and contributed to the tokenizer component of the Rokhshan AI project.
Alongside my other projects, I have been exploring different ways to represent and retrieve information. I enjoy working across search systems, NLP, and graph-based learning, especially when building and experimenting helps a concept become clearer.
My Computer Engineering studies gave me a foundation in programming, algorithms, data structures, and software development. These fundamentals still shape how I approach new AI concepts and projects.
My academic background gives me a foundation in Computer Engineering, and my projects and independent learning help me explore the areas of AI that interest me most.
During my Computer Engineering studies, I built a foundation in programming, algorithms, data structures, and software engineering. Alongside my coursework, I became increasingly interested in AI, NLP, information retrieval, and building systems through practical projects.
I use personal projects to explore the ideas that interest me most, including NLP, search systems, machine learning, and graph-based learning.
I'm preparing to continue my studies in Artificial Intelligence, with particular interest in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and intelligent systems. I want to keep developing the research skills I've built through independent projects and connect them with real-world engineering practice.
A selection of projects that reflect my work in AI, NLP, and software engineering.
I've never enjoyed learning entirely on my own. One of the best parts of this journey has been having one of my closest friends beside me. We spend a lot of time discussing ideas and solving problems together, especially when a concept does not make sense the first time.
Recently, we've been exploring graph learning together. Looking back, I think learning side by side has helped both of us become more effective learners.
A large part of my current learning focuses on RAG systems and graph-based approaches. I’m still exploring both areas, building the foundations step by step and trying to understand how they work in practice.
What interests me most is the connection between retrieval and structured knowledge. I want to understand how a system can find useful information, recognize relationships between pieces of data, and use that context to produce better answers. Graphs make this especially interesting because they offer another way to represent information beyond plain text.
This is still a work in progress for me, which is why I wanted to include it here. RAG and graph systems are the areas I’m actively experimenting with, and I’m interested to see how far I can take them as I learn more.
I’ve always been curious about how much I can grow when I step outside what feels familiar.
Living in a new country, especially in an environment shaped by modern technology and new ideas, would give me a chance to challenge myself and adapt to a different way of life. I want to experience places where innovation is part of everyday work, learn how people approach technology and problem-solving, and develop new ways of thinking and working.
For me, moving abroad is a chance to grow through a new experience, become more flexible, and see how far I can push myself when I’m surrounded by unfamiliar challenges and possibilities.
Research and programming take up a large part of my life, but I also find that creativity grows away from the screen. These are a few things that help me recharge and return with a fresh perspective.
Music has always been part of my life. I enjoy playing guitar, discovering new songs, and sometimes getting lost in the rhythm. Dancing comes naturally with it and is another way I enjoy music.
Training helps me slow down and clear my mind. I've noticed that some of my favorite ideas come after a workout, away from my laptop.
Whenever I'm stuck on a problem, I usually step away for a while. A walk, a workout, or a conversation often helps me find an answer that was not clear at my desk.
If you're interested in research collaboration, AI projects, or graduate opportunities, I'd be happy to connect.
Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I'm always open to conversations about Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, research collaboration, and software projects with researchers, recruiters, and fellow engineers.
